The BrokeScholar website has a database of over 650,000 scholarships totaling over $1 Billion. They give you a sample letter to send to scholarship providers. We suggest you just visit the scholarship website, and if you have questions, then send an email. Save yourself the stamp.

This is a national organization that is composed of various foundations and scholarship providers. This is a great way to research potential organizations that may provide you with scholarhsips (their members provided almost $1 Billion in scholarships in 2007).

CollegeTreasure.com
CollegeTreasure.com has a database of over 1,100 colleges that offer merit scholarships and you can easily search the database using the student's SAT and GPA.  In addition, they offer a $1,000 scholarships and several colleges also offer an additional $1,000 scholarship if you find out about the school through CollegeTreasure.com.
