Essay Gold Package
What Is a Good Essay?
The admissions essay is perhaps the most intimidating portion
of the college application, and with good reason. A poor essay
can give an impression of dullness, pretentiousness, or even carelessness.
Unless you are a dull, pretentious, and careless person-in which
case you might have a tough time getting into college anyway-such
an essay is an unfortunate and possibly disastrous addition to
your application. We can help you avoid submitting a poor essay.
Although successful
college essays vary in both content and in form, they do share
some common features: to convey the applicant's personality
and background in a manner that is interesting and, above all,
well written. Sounds simple, right? Yes and no. It is easy enough
to declare your aims, but often much more difficult to adhere
to them-the mind is willing but the pen is weak.
How Can We Help
You?
In the Gold Package, our experts help you write the best essay
possible. We assist you each step of the way, from the initial
brainstorming to final draft, and your personal statement stands
out from the mass of unimpressive essays that admissions officers
must read each year.
To aid you in the intimidating
task of beginning your essay, we provide you with a copy of
the First Choice Guide to Writing a Winning College Essay, which
includes tips, worksheets, and sample essays with critiques.
Next is a 30-minute brainstorming session, either at our office
or over the phone, in which we help you come up with an essay
plan that fits your particular history and personality. Finally,
after you have written a draft of your essay, we will edit and
critique it within two days so you can add it to your application
bundle, confident in the fact that you have put your best foot
forward.
Note: Although the
Gold Package includes only one brainstorming session, you can
submit up to three essays, each to be revised once. If more
edits or brainstorming sessions are required, the price will
be $15 per additional edit and an hourly charge for the additional
brainstorming sessions of $90.
